The Streetwise London performers gave a fantastic performance to an enthralled audience at Hackney Empire on 10th April 2026. It was brilliant to see them proudly present the work we had co-created through the Re:imagine the Classics project. Over 5 weeks, I had the opportunity to work with the Streetwise group to look at Leoncavallo's opera Pagliacci in a new light and create our own performance, reframing the story through new lyrics, music + movement created collaboratively. I'm now preparing for a residency within TalentLAB at Théâtres de la Ville de Luxembourg. TalentLAB is a 10-day-long international arts festival and Research & Development programme for new interdisciplinary work, taking place throughout Luxembourg City, 28th May - 7th June 2026.
I will be working with director & writer Toria Banks (We Are Hera opera company), pianist Cathy Krier and actress Claire Lacey to develop "Rosemary Brown and the So-called Dead". Our new music-driven performance will explore the story of Rosemary Brown, a spirit medium and dinnerlady from South London who produced piano music she said was communicated to her by the spirits of famous dead composers such as Liszt and Chopin. The residency will culminate with a 20-minute work-in-progress performance at the Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg on 7th June 2026. More information (in French): https://theatres.lu/talentlab
